Quite a few of our customers tell us they wear our DNA thermal alpaca socks when skiing or snowboarding. We do not recommend this… our thermal socks are too thick for the type of boots used in those sports.
This being said, alpaca ski socks will offer you a maximal protection from the cold. They rise higher on the calves to rise above the boots. Thinner on top and curly underfoot (using the Terry technique), they will protect your foot from the cold that creeps from the ground and won’t feel bulky in the boot. Our alpaca ski and snowboard socks are designed to improve blood circulation to and from your feet. Adequate blood circulation will maximize the production of heat by your feet, thus keeping them comfortably warm.
As your foot doesn’t move much in ski and snowboard boots, we haven’t strengthened the toes and heels of these socks, making them thinner.
Easy-care: we recommend a cold machine wash on delicate setting, but they should be dried flat.
